Backyard artificial turf installation in progress with base prep and turf roll

Our process

The install is only as good as what is under the turf.

DFW Turf Pros keeps the process clear: walkthrough and measurement, base prep, drainage planning, turf placement, infill brushing, and a final review.

A clean install in four moves.

  1. Step 1

    Walkthrough and measurement

Confirm the yard goals, measure the usable area, and flag drainage, edges, pets, play zones, or putting-green details before pricing is finalized.

  2. Step 2

    Base prep and drainage

Remove the old surface, shape the grade, compact the base in lifts, and plan water movement before turf ever goes down.

  3. Step 3

    Turf placement and seams

Set turf direction, trim clean edges, secure transitions, and place seams where they stay stable and visually quiet.

  4. Step 4

    Infill, brushing, and walkthrough

Brush in the right infill, check the finish details, review care basics, and leave the yard ready for everyday use.

Quality education

What a durable turf install needs.

Most installs excavate about 3-4 inches depending on yard conditions, then use crushed stone or decomposed granite compacted in lifts.

Drainage planning matters in North Texas rain. So do seam quality, pile direction, edge security, and the right infill for feel, cooling, odor control, and pile recovery.

DFW Turf Pros includes one annual maintenance visit for brushing, fluffing, and keeping the turf finish clean.

How to read a turf quote.

A good quote explains square footage, turf type, base prep, removal, edging, drainage assumptions, infill, warranty language, and what happens if site conditions change.
